Removing the old summer house was easy

two good smacks with a 14 pound hammer

and it was gone.

Then 1 ton of concrete for the base and some

aspirin for the back and we are ready to build

our GAZEBO

WIFE  : "Looks good but what's the hole
 in the roof for"

ME :  "Well you will need some ventilation
in the  summer"

WIFE : "Why have you bought some rollers"

ME : "So you can turn the roof around to face
the sun, brilliant idea don't you think"

A GAZEBO with blinds, hole in the roof,
rollers for turning the roof to any point on
the compass, shelf unit for computer and
electrics with red night vision bulb.

The secret will have to come out soon its
getting a bit obvious when the telescope mount
starts to be erected.

Windows, door, blinds fitted a coat of weather

proof paint and the GAZEBO is up

and ready for use!

Well I was thoughtful and put in a coffee
table of sorts inside for her, pity it's got a
huge great metal tripod fastened to the top,
now my OBSERVATORY is ready for use!.

And it works fine!

Future developments a central metal

pillar to mount the scope on, a motor

to drive the roof and a cloud dissipating machine.

Well it had to be done a window winder motor
from the scrap yard now drives the roof
with a simple friction drive.

Now an adjustable central pillar concreted
into the floor and the boat winch to raise
and lower telescope. A handy shelf attached to
carry the lenses.

All I need know is a telescope worthy of
all this hard work.

A 10" Orion Optics on a motor driven mount.

Gone are the days of the £21.00 telescope.

Some serious star watching coming up this winter,

can't wait.

And it still looks like a
GAZEBO!
